The project included changes to the structure of the office, design improvements and an update of the electrical systems.
Client Background and Challenges
The MEA team came to Avent Interiors needing a more suitable, contemporary and effective office space to support the day-to-day operations due to the fast-paced industry they operate in. Their office space was antiquated and had worn flooring, inadequate insulation and subpar lighting and power systems. In order to ensure minimal disruption during the refurbishment process, MEA selected Avent Interiors for the project because of their experience and track record of transforming office spaces with creative and useful solutions.
Project Goals and Requirements
The project consisted of a couple of main objectives; these included creating an energy-efficient, aesthetically pleasing office which aligned with MEA’s brand and met their operational requirements. Smaller objectives of the project included the removal of outdated partitions, installing roof insulation and upgrading the lighting and heating systems, creating a modern kitchen area, installing new flooring and overhauling the office entrance.
Solution and Implementation
Once the project was won and initial consultations were completed, to better understand the clients’ requirements, Avent Interiors developed a tailored solution to meet the specific needs of MEA Consultants. This solution involved prepping the existing flooring and painting it with a durable grey finish. The kitchen area was upgraded by installing wooden slats to the back wall, whereas the kitchen itself was fitted with white units, a grey stone worktop, and a white rectangular tile splashback, complemented by a Nova Hotspot tap for boiling and filtered water.
To enhance the layout, the team removed existing partitions and installed new sections to create a more functional space. Attic insulation was added to improve energy efficiency, and the electrical systems were upgraded with the installation of black strip lights and wall-mounted sockets. Five vertical anthracite tube heaters were installed throughout the office, each connected to a 16A radial circuit for energy-efficient heating.
The office’s front entrance was modernised with a fire-rated door, equipped with a vision panel, ensuring both safety and aesthetic appeal. All walls and ceilings were finished in vinyl matt white paint, giving the space a fresh and contemporary look.
Results and Client Feedback
The refurbishment was completed on time and within the allocated budget. MEA’s newly designed office now offers a modern, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment. Employees have reported significant improvements in comfort, with better lighting and heating systems.
