Introduction
CFO Centre, a well-established provider of part-time CFOs to SMEs, came to Avent Interiors in need of assistance with a proposed project at their Swindon office. The project was to rework an area of their office that was no longer meeting the needs of the client. This reworking was to be completed by installing a range of partitioning into the area to create two meeting rooms and a training area and allow for the installation of two ‘zoom pods’.
Client Background and Challenges
Established in 2001 and working with an impressive range of clients, CFO Centres business relies on exceptional communication between departments and high productivity levels. The area in question was a large open-plan area that couldn’t be utilised in many ways. This, in turn, stifled the productivity and especially the communication between departments. Project Goals and Requirements
CFO Centre came to Avent Interiors with a plan to rework the area from the open-plan design that they had originally. This rework would create an area boasting two individual meeting rooms, a training area, and 2 ‘zoom rooms’ whilst also leaving a small breakout area with the remaining space. The Zoom rooms were of specific interest as they needed to be adequately soundproofed to allow for productive conversations. This soundproofing was achieved by utilising ‘Soundbloc’ plasterboard in the construction of the walls and installing integral acoustic ceiling panels within each pod.
Solution and Implementation
To bring the client’s vision to life, Avent Interiors first created a space plan that made sure each area had ample room to be safely and effectively constructed. Once this design had been agreed upon with the client, Avent Interiors moved into scheduling the project and swiftly agreed on a start date. Once a small amount of enabling works had been completed, Avent Interiors were able to start construction of the partitioning.
The ‘zoom pods’ were created utilising 200mm (twin wall) solid dividing partitions with glass doors to complete the design. The rest of the rooms were created utilising a mix of solid and glazed partitions along the length to allow for natural light, which retained the open feel of the area. All three of the rooms were fitted with PPC aluminium slimline frames in which were hung grey laminated doors to provide a blank canvas colour-wise.
Results and Client Feedback
The finished product boasted a well-designed area that included a large training area, two meeting rooms, and two Zoom/telephone booths. This reworked area will help to boost productivity for the client by improving the quality of meetings, training, and external calls.
