Avent Interiors were appointed by Rohan Short to fit out their newly leased property in the Clifton area of Bristol. The fit out would marry functionality and modern aesthetics to craft the perfect place for Rohan Short to grow their business. The project included the installation of partitioning, flooring, kitchen facilities, power and data solutions and was capped off with a furniture installation. The goal was to enhance efficiency and comfort while ensuring a seamless integration of all elements within the office.
Client Background and Challenges
Rohan Short, a QS consultancy, operates in a fast-paced industry and therefore required a workspace which supported productivity, collaboration and sleek design choices. The space plan designed by Avent Interiors helped support these key traits whilst also allowing for future workforce expansion. Avent Interiors were chosen for this project due to their reputation in the industry of delivering high-quality fit out projects across the South West.
Project Goals and Requirements
The primary objective of the project was to create a functional and stylish workspace that enhanced efficiency and comfort. The key requirements of the projects included installing both solid and glazed partitions to establish meeting rooms which still allowed in natural light. Installing LVT flooring around the kitchen to seamlessly transition between carpeted and non-carpeted areas and of course, installing and designing a modern kitchen with integrated appliances. Additionally, the office’s power and data infrastructure needed upgrading to enhance connectivity and support daily operations. Furniture, including modular seating, storage walls, and ergonomic workspace elements, was also essential to ensure a cohesive and well-organised environment.
Solution and Implementation
To meet these goals, Avent Interiors took a strategic and methodical approach. Solid partitions were installed using 50mm stud & track with double-layered soundbloc boards, ensuring superior soundproofing. Black aluminium detailing was incorporated to complement the office’s aesthetic, while frameless Crittall-style glazing with 12.8mm acoustic laminated safety glass maintained an open yet private meeting space.
Flooring was upgraded with high-quality wood-effect LVT in the kitchen and breakout areas, maintaining a seamless transition with existing carpet tiles. The kitchen was designed with a Clerkenwell Super Matt finish, complemented by a Magma Concrete effect laminate worktop. Integrated appliances, including a dishwasher, fridge, and built-in microwave, enhanced the space’s functionality, while necessary plumbing adjustments ensured efficiency.
The electrical and data infrastructure was reconfigured, with existing sockets modified, additional power points installed, and lighting upgraded with PIR sensors for energy efficiency. Existing LED fittings were redistributed, and a ceiling-mounted extract fan was installed in the kitchen to improve ventilation. To maximise space efficiency and aesthetics, furniture was provided and installed, including modular seating, planter-framed storage walls, and ergonomic workstations. The floor-to-ceiling storage wall provided ample organisational space while maintaining a sleek and professional appearance.
