Introduction
Rodgers Leask, a leading player in the engineering consultancy industry came to Avent Interiors with the vision to revamp their recently acquired office space in Bristol. The project consisted of a full office fit out from initial concepts to completion with furniture included. Rodgers Leask needed an office space which would hold around 20 full time, permanent employees, included meeting rooms, zoom areas, a kitchen and a breakout area. The main goal of the project was to leave Rodgers Leask with a functional, modern office space which would boost productivity and employee wellness
Client Background and Challenges
Rodgers Leask, who were founded in 1984 in Derby, have been expanding across the UK in recent years and now have offices in the Midlands, North West and South West. With a portfolio offering including civil, structural transport planning and geo-environmental services to clients nationwide they have cemented themselves as leading players in their field. Their recent expansion into the South West, lead by their new office in Bristol, provided them with the challenge of fostering a productive office space in the city. Rodgers Leask came to Avent Interiors due to their track record of providing impressive office fit out & refurbishment services for similar clients throughout the South West.
Project Goals and Requirements
There were a couple of key requirements on this project which Avent Interiors needed to plan for. The client needed space for around 20 full-time, permanent employees, a pair of Zoom booths, a kitchen, a breakout area, and a pair meeting rooms (one formal and one casual). The space plan Avent Interior produced met all the needs of the client whilst striking a balance between design and practicality. Technological integration was key to this project, specifically, ample data and power points throughout the fit out. One practical use of space was he positioning of the zoom booths, which utilised awkward areas of space well within the confines of the brief.
Solution and Implementation
Avent Interiors had an initial meeting with the client to establish the needs of the client along with budgetary requirements for the project. Once a space plan was produced, this was taken to the client, and after a few revisions, a schedule of works was created. The project included the use of expertly placed partitions to create an office that promoted a productive workflow. LVT flooring was installed around the kitchen area, and shortly after, so was the kitchen. Once all construction works were completed the furniture installation could begin. Quality desking, comfortable seating, and ample storage had all been factored into the designs to allow for employee wellness. Freestanding screens were placed throughout the fit out for employee privacy, and stylish breakout furnishings were chosen.
Results and Client Feedback
Once the fit out was completed and staff had moved back in Avent Interiors were pleased to hear that Rodgers Leask were thrilled with the final product and particularly praised the project management and attention to detail that Avent Interiors pride themselves on. The end product managed to comply with the client’s vision for the space whilst coming in on budget and within a predetermined timeframe.
