Hayes Parsons, which is one of the South West’s largest independent insurance brokers, came to Avent Interiors as they were relocating into a newly acquired office space. Hayes Parsons had agreed to lease a new office space in the centre of Bristol near the Temple Meads train station. The new office space was much bigger than their previous location, had easily available transport links, and future-proofed the company for further expansion. The goal of the project was to take the shell that the client had purchased and completely fit out the space into a fully functional modern office space.
Client Background and Challenges
With multiple awards to their name Hayes Parsons have established themselves as an effective resource for businesses across the South West. To support their growing business the client needed a modern, productive workspace which allowed for easy collaboration between department and most importantly allowed for best use of the available space. Avent Interiors were approached to complete this office fit out project due to their outstanding track record of office fit out projects.
Project Goals and Requirements
Hayes Parsons had several goals for the project, which included creating a stunning design-led office space that wowed visitors and boosted productivity as well as future-proofing the company for any potential new hires. Hayes Parsons were keen to utilise glazed partitioning throughout the project to allow natural light to spread throughout the building and give the management offices a welcoming feel. Avent Interiors worked with the client to design a modern, inviting colour palette for the project, which translated well from design to real life.
Solution and Implementation
After pitching the design to the client, Avent Interiors agreed on a schedule with the client and moved into the construction phase of the project. Partitioning was utilised throughout the space to break up the open-plan footprint of the building into distinct sections, which included desking, breakout, meeting, managers offices, and a kitchen. Solid partitioning was utilised to section off the breakout area from the rest of the office space, whereas glazed was utilised to create meeting rooms and private offices.
A mix of carpet tiles and LVT flooring was utilised to reinforce the distinct areas detailed above. Avent Interiors also used a mix of carpet tiles to create a walkway through the office to aid in employee and visitor traffic.
The furniture suggested by Avent Interiors consisted of a mix of breakout and seating/desking. The centerpiece of the office was a stunning circular sofa, which brought the rest of the office together. Along with the sofa, other breakout furniture included a meeting table featuring a gantry for plants to bring some biophilic design into the space. A traditional boardroom table with a matching light fixture, classic canteen tables and chairs, and storage. The storage chosen was installed at the end of the desking areas to cap off the desking and give some level of privacy to employees.
In the canteen area, a stunning kitchen was installed that featured a white tiled backsplash, hot tap, marble-effect countertops, and dark blue cabinets to complement the colour palette of the project. The entrance included more biophilic design in the form of a moss wall with wooden slats on which sat the client’s logo above a sofa where visitors could wait to be seen.
Results and Client Feedback
The final result was a stunning office, which was incredibly well space-planned, modern, and ready to support the client for years to come. The project was completed within both the timeframe and budget set out by the client while also hitting all key objectives.
