The month of May has proven another busy one for the team here at Avent Interiors. We’ve been on site at our landmark project for a full month now, making some outstanding progress; we’ve welcomed a new face to the team and continued to deliver some smaller projects in the background.
Project Update: Specialist Aircraft Hangar Fit Out
Works continue to progress at pace on our Cotswold Airport hangar conversion, with the building now firmly transitioning from structural works into fit out.
Progress to date
Since mobilisation, the project has moved through enabling, strip‑out, and reconfiguration phases, removing all existing services and preparing the hangar for redevelopment. Internal layouts have since been established, with partitions, wall linings, and service routes defining the new arrangement.
Key milestones achieved include:
- Completion of extensive demolition and service strip‑out
- Installation of hangar wall linings and internal structures
- Progression of fire detection, lighting, and first‑fix M&E services
- Delivery and installation of the mezzanine steel structure and deck
- Ongoing partitioning, column encasement, and wall build‑ups
- Commencement of tape & jointing and ceiling frameworks
The mezzanine installation remains a standout milestone, creating a clear two‑level layout and unlocking significant usable floor space within the hangar.
Current position
The internal environment is rapidly taking shape. The structural framework is complete, mezzanine works are well advanced, and first‑fix services are being integrated across both levels. Early finishing works, including wall preparation and ceiling systems, are now underway.
What’s next
Upcoming works will focus on:
- Completion of mezzanine detailing, partitions, and access elements
- Progression of M&E installations and first‑fix completion
- Installation of ceilings, insulation, and wall finishes
- Transition into second‑fix works and final fit‑out
The project continues to build strong momentum, with a clear shift from structural milestones into the detailed fit‑out phase, bringing the final vision closer to completion.
Barrettine Canteen Fit Out in Warmley
We are delighted to announce that we are once again working with Barrettine Products to fit out one of their premises.
This time we’ll be designing, constructing and furnishing a canteen and welfare unit at their St Ivel Way site. This project will see the area transformed into a modern, functional staff environment which can house over 40 staff at any one time. With fully integrated kitchens, multiple preparation areas and appliance stations, it will support staff for years to come.
This design has been carefully considered to be modern and stylish as well as durable. Key elements include enhanced space planning, robust finishes, compliant layouts, and a clear focus on efficiency and comfort.
We’d like to thank Barrettine for their continued trust when working with us and hope this partnership carries on well into the future.
Evolving Roles: Farewell for Now & A New Face Joins
We are both delighted and saddened by our most recent team update. Some of you may know our Head of Design, Bethan Hellings; she’s been with us for around 2 years now and her work has been essential to cementing our place as a go-to fit out provider.
It’s been a brilliant two years having her with us but it’s not quite goodbye yet. Bethan has decided to make the move to go freelance, which we wish her all the best with. This does mean, however, we may be working with her in the future to support our team when providing initial designs to clients.

Naturally, with Beth leaving, we have welcomed in a new designer to the team! Last week, we welcomed Victoria Sayer to the team as our new senior designer.
Vicki brings a wealth of knowledge to Avent Interiors, with over 8 years’ experience in the commercial interiors industry. She has a strong background in workplace design, space planning, and delivering functional yet creative spaces for a range of clients.
With a passion for design, incredible attention to detail, and top-notch collaborative skills, we’re certain Vicki is going to make a fantastic addition to the team.
