It’s been a brilliant first 6 months of 2026 for the team here at Avent Interiors; we’ve secured and delivered some incredible projects, made some important hires and supported some incredible causes. Throughout June we haven’t slowed down at all. In our latest update we’ll bring you a closer look at what we’ve been up to.
New Hires: Welcoming Chris Sands and Bob Pearse
The Avent Interiors team is once again growing to support the growing demand for our services across the South West. We are welcoming in two experienced and extremely talented individuals, and we couldn’t be happier.
Chris Sands – Project Manager
A local lad through and through, Chris graduated from UWE with a first-class degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management, a strong start in the construction world which he has built on successfully. He spent four years at his previous company working within the commercial interior sector, where he worked his way up from assistant project manager to project manager in just two years.
Away from work life, Chris keeps himself busy with football and travelling. Playing for Hanham Abbottonians in the local Saturday league, he’s obviously a great team player. Chris’s most recent trip took him across Australia, Thailand and the Phillipines toward the end of 2025. He has the drive and ability to be taking the reigns of his own projects at Avent Interiors and is a natural fit for how we operate.
Bob Pearse – Small Works Contracts Manager
Bob brings something which can simply not be taught to the Avent Interiors team: 36 committed years of hands-on experience in the construction industry. Starting out on site as a tradesman, specifically a painter and decorator, Bob worked his way up to Site Manager. 7 years ago Bob pivoted his career into Contracts Management and hasn’t looked back. What a career! We’re extremely happy to welcome Bob to the team and are sure he will pass on years of knowledge to our site teams.
Outside of work Bob is a man of commitment; he has been following Rovers for over 45 years! Used to the ups and down of supporting a local team, he takes everything in his stride. That resilience and loyalty to the underdog encapsulates the person he is. Excited to have you on board, Bob!
Community Of Purpose – Bristol Together Championships
Avent Interiors are once again proud to be sponsoring the work of Community of Purpose throughout 2026 after an incredible time experiencing the work they do for local young people in 2025.
June is an extra special month for the Community of Purpose as they host their annual ‘Bristol Together Championships‘. The event brings together 30 schools and over 150 young people from across Bristol to take part in a football tournament where they are the stars. A friendly competition, it aims to connect young people from across Bristol from various social and cultural backgrounds, helping them increase their understanding of one another. After the tournament, 30 children from 6 participating schools are selected to represent Bristol in Bordeaux on a four-day trip as part of the cities’ twinning relationship.
This year both Mark and Joe were there to represent Avent Interiors and witness the good the programme does firsthand. The day started with the teams arriving and meeting their team while being issued with their full kit. Once changed and fully acquainted with each other, it was time for kick-off and the first group games! Each game was made up of smiles, new friendships and some brilliant teamwork.
Following the group stages it was time for a rest and a spot of lunch. While all the teams were eating their packed lunches, it was inspiring to see the teams conversing within their teams as if they had known each other for years. After lunch it was time for the final and what an action-packed game it was! On the final whistle there were cheers from all schools for everyone involved and a successful event.
The day ended with some certificates and medals for all teams, providing every attendee their own moment to feel like a winner. Following some very special individual awards, the day was wrapped up with a speech from the Mayor of Bristol which concluded the 2026 ‘Bristol Together Championships’
As a team of sports fans and players here at Avent Interiors, we recognise the key part it plays in an individual’s growth. It builds bonds, provides confidence and breaks down barriers with others. Seeing this firsthand was an inspiring experience and one which the team will look back on fondly. A huge shout-out must go to everyone who made the day possible, including the other sponsors, UWE and the team at Community of Purpose.
Project Update: Coming In To Land
Our landmark project for the year, our fit out of a WWII-era aircraft hangar at Cotswold Airport, is coming in to land. We’re on the final stretch, and with the recent progress, we’re cleared for final approach.
Since we last brought you an update, the finishing trades have swept through the building. Glass partitions and windows are now in; the partition glass is fitted across both floors, bathroom facilities are complete, WC mirrors and manifestations are in place, and the mastic is going down. The space has gone from a construction site to something that genuinely looks and feels like a workplace.
With site clean scheduled and handover just days away, it’s been one of those projects that reminds you why we do what we do, transforming a piece of history into a fully functioning, modern workspace.
Project Completion: An Effective Local Fit Out
Sometimes the solution required is optimising the space you already have. That was exactly the thinking behind our latest project with Trident Compliance at their premises in Bristol.
Trident came to us with a clear challenge: they needed a dedicated, private space for important meetings without the disruption or cost of relocating or expanding their footprint. The answer was right above their heads. Beneath an existing mezzanine floor sat unused, untapped potential, which is the space we got to work with.
The project saw us construct a fully enclosed boardroom, transforming what was essentially dead space into a private area for confidential talks. Works included new partitioning to form the room, full-height acoustic and glazed partitions to create a professional environment that looks the part and performs acoustically, bespoke carpentry including doors, frames and storage solutions, electrical alterations with a new floor box installation, carpet tile flooring throughout, full decoration to deliver a clean, high-quality finish and a small but effective furniture installation.
What was an overlooked area beneath a mezzanine is now a polished, turnkey boardroom, ready to use from the moment of handover. Practical, professional, and exactly what the client needed. It’s the kind of project that reminds us what optimising space is really all about; we think the results speak for themselves.
